Legal Management Systems: The Two Minute Drill

Last week, we discussed an Accounts Receivable Management (ARM) methodology that could be put into place to assist in simplifying Collections for your Firm.

By taking some extra steps and utilizing specific features and functionality that Rippe & Kingston's LMS software offers, the process can be much more efficient.

You may remember that one of the software's responsibilities we mentioned was initiating Firm Collection pushes via "Two Minutes Drills."

So, what does that mean?

The new "Two Minute Drill" Watchlist allows the Firm to easily set revenue goals for a specific time period and track Attorney (O/B/R) progress towards those goals.

Examples include 4th quarter goals or annual goals.

Are you ready to run a "drill" for your Firm's Attorneys?

Legal Management Systems: Scanning Solutions

Many of you might already be aware of programs such as PDF-Xchange Viewer, Adobe Professional, and PDFpen that allow for electronic editing of BIMs. These are all great options for Attorneys on the go!

However, while electronically editing BIMs is efficient, many of your Attorneys might prefer to make handwritten notes on paper.

Of course, this can be problematic when it comes to storing the revised copies. Many Firms hold onto them and have boxes and boxes of storage just for BIMs.

Are you seeking a solution? Well, Rippe & Kingston has a suggestion!

If you have the latest OCR (Optical Character Recognition) scanning technology to create searchable PDFs on your copier/scanner, this just might be the answer!

Once the Attorney has made handwritten notes on the BIM, we recommend that they are scanned back into electronic form on a monthly basis. You would then have one large, searchable PDF for the month.  It would be easy to retrieve a BIM by its number utilizing the search function in your PDF viewer!

With this solution, everyone is happy. Attorneys can revise BIMs on paper and your Firm can store the updated BIMs electronically, rather than storing boxes of BIMs.

Rippe & Kingston's LMS+ Client/Matter Minding Watchlist can help!

The Client/Matter Minding Watchlist, also available at the Firm level, prompts you to not only ask the important questions, but also gives you the answers.

Are my Clients receiving the proper level of attention?

Do I have Clients that need to be contacted?

Are there Clients that I should take out to lunch, rather than eat at my desk?

If you aren't contacting your Clients, your competition might be!

Once you have the answers, you can take the necessary steps to improve your Client relationships.
