Legal Management Systems: LMS+ WebTime Compatible with 'Talk to Text'

Many of us are familiar with the 'talk to text' or ‘speech to text’ functionality (a.k.a., dictation) on our mobile devices.  We often use it to draft quick emails or send hands-free texts.

Did you know that Rippe & Kingston's LMS+ WebTime supports this feature when utilizing a mobile device with dictation?

If your device has the ‘talk to text’ feature and you have access to LMS+, you can enter narrative into WebTime just by the sound of your voice!

For those of you that have devices with dictation, you can select the microphone from your keyboard when you are ready to enter narrative.  Once you select it, speak away!

For instance, on an iPad Mini with dictation, select the microphone to start it and select the pop-up microphone to stop it and view the narrative.

Utilizing 'talk to text' with LMS+ WebTime is easy & convenient!

Legal Management Systems: LMSV Import Facility

We hope you’ve had a strong start to the new year and know that many of you are seeking ways to save time and eliminate duplicative efforts in 2014.

For instance, do you ever have to enter data into your Financial Management System that is already in Excel (e.g., Attorney rates, journal entries, budgets, etc.)?   Do you feel like that's a waste of your valuable energy when keying the data twice?

Today, we wanted to take a moment to suggest Rippe & Kingston's LMSV Import Facility as a solution.

For those of you not familiar with it, the Import Facility allows you to import and validate data from your Excel spreadsheet.  Once any errors are corrected, the spreadsheet can then be uploaded directly to the appropriate LMS Table.  It's as simple as 1-2-3!

Other beneficial features of the LMSV Import Facility include:
  •  Showing you how to format the Excel spreadsheet
  •  Allowing you to enter your own notes and rules for the import
  •  Browsing to the Excel Spreadsheet from LMSV

LMS Time Capture Methodologies: Full Day Accounting

To continue our Make Time for Timekeeping discussion from last week, we’re talking about Rippe & Kingston's Full Day Accounting.

Yes we’ve mentioned it before, and it’s simply because we cannot stress its importance enough.

Timekeeping is a discipline, and Full Day Accounting requires the Attorneys to account for the entire day (Billable and Non-billable).

Full Day Accounting allows Attorneys to view their entire day at a glance.   The timekeeper can ensure that there aren’t gaps in the day that are actually billable.  The example above clearly shows that the Attorney has not yet entered time (very likely that it is billable time) for certain parts of the day.

Full Day Accounting is an effective method for capturing time that should not be overlooked!
